It was an appraisal to please the banks. The appraiser devalued my home by $300K when comparing properties that were no more than 600 sq ft larger than my own of comparable quality and amenities. I own a pristine $1M+ home that is 11 years old. The appraiser cited that my custom built home needed to be updated. It was the most ridulous appraisal I’ve ever had, and I’ve refinance 5 times over the last 10 years. If you’re looking for a fair appraisal of your property, keep looking and don’t stop here.
